HelpSmith is an innovative help authoring tool which allows you to create CHM HTML Help files, Web Help systems, PDF, and Manuals using the same source help project. The stand-alone and very easy-to-use environment integrates a powerful Word-like Unicode word-processor with dynamic styles and live spell checker, advanced approach to working with graphical and video files, and many other useful tools.

Based on the original technologies HelpSmith, enables creating documentation and help files from scratch and also allows you to import help topics from Microsoft Word (.RTF), .HTML, and plain text files that can be written in multiple ANSI character encodings.

HelpSmith helps you provide technical documentation for your software in different formats one of which is context-sensitive CHM HTML Help files, a standard help format in Windows. HelpSmith has support for all the features of HTML Help CHM format, so you can create the hierarchical TOC, alphabetical keyword Index, create and modify chm viewer's help windows, and so on.

If you used other help authoring software before, HelpSmith has the Import functionality, so you can import your existing help projects saved in MS HTML Help Workshop's HHP format or even directly from .CHM HTML Help files.

The WYSIWYG principle makes the process of using HelpSmith as easy as using a regular office application. And, in fact, you do not have to learn any technical details to build professional CHM files and other documentation with this help authoring utility.
